It’s been a while for Jayhawks fans to see some winning sports again — well, winning football at least.

The Kansas men’s basketball team started the season 2-0 after an impressive 94-83 win over No. 4 Duke on Tuesday, but the football team made the most noise over the weekend. Kansas broke their 27-game Big-12 losing streak on Saturday, beating West Virginia 31-19 in front of a busy crowd in Lawrence, Kansas.

The Jayhawks had lost their first six conference games to begin the season, including six in a row overall, but Saturday’s win broke that terrible losing tradition. The Kansas fans took down the goalposts after the game — like they had just won a major in-state rivalry or something — and carried the wretched curse bearers to a nearby lake, throwing the yellow sticks into the water and watching them float about to the sounds of rampant cheers.

Check out the video and photo below to see Kansas fans carrying the goalposts to the lake and watching them float.
