Somewhere, John Tortorella is nodding his head and smiling.
Timberwolves forward Kevin Love missed a potential game-tying tip-in in the closing seconds of Monday’s 109-107 loss to the Clippers, and he was understandably not in the jolliest of moods in the locker room afterward. So, when one reporter tried the old “ask a statement” trick — a known pet peeve of both Tortorella and Spurs coach Gregg Popovich — during Love’s postgame media availability, he was met with a blank stare.
“That’s not a question,” Love said after a few seconds of awkward silence.
