Matt Bartkowski Brings ‘Different Element’ to Bruins Blue Line in Adam McQuaid’s Absence (Video)

Matt Bartkowski has been the odd man out among Bruins defensemen this season, seeing the ice in just four of Boston’s 16 games.

An injury to Adam McQuaid during Saturday’s win over Toronto cut Boston’s pool of D-men from seven to six, however, giving Bartkowski the opportunity to suit up for Monday’s matinee meeting with Tampa Bay.

The 6-foot-1 Bartkowski plays a very different style of hockey than McQuaid, a 6-foot-5 bruiser, giving the Bruins’ lineup an added wrinkle for the division matchup against the surging Lightning.

Hear Andy Brickley break down Bartkowski’s impact in the video above.
