If you don’t think you have enough money in your wallet to ride the subway in Moscow, don’t worry, tickets can now be purchased with some exercise instead of cash.

The Russian city of Sochi is getting ready to welcome the world’s best for two weeks of Olympic competition in February, and while not everyone can be a world-class athlete, staying in shape is important.

According to AFP, a “squat-operated ticket machine is installed at a metro station in western Moscow that is near a huge convention centre.” The report says that anyone who wants to get a free subway ticket must do 30 squats in two minutes, which if completed successfully, would save passengers a little less than $1 US per trip.

If you’re out of shape, 30 squats in two minutes will seem like a daunting task, but give some credit to Russia. This is a fun and creative way for the country to promote the importance of an active and healthy lifestyle. The Sochi Games will be the first Olympics hosted by Russia, and in 2018 , the country will stage the FIFA World Cup for the first time.
