November 27, 2013 – NESN, New England’s most watched sports network, is proud to announce the release of Band of Bearded Brothers: The 2013 World Champion Red Sox. The year-in-review home video, a complete look back at the incredible 2013 Boston Red Sox championship season, will be available in retail stores throughout New England on both DVD ($19.95) and Blu-ray ($24.95) beginning Thursday, December 12th.
Band of Bearded Brothers is narrated by former Red Sox first baseman and 2004 World Series champion Kevin Millar. With exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and never before seen highlights, the film showcases how the 2013 Boston Red Sox overcame adversities and developed into a personality-driven and resilient team. The 81-minute film, produced by NESN in association with Major League Baseball Productions, features the untold stories that formed this team’s unique identity and helped restore the faith of Red Sox Nation. In addition to showing every walk-off home run and many thrilling come-from-behind victories, the film includes exclusive game day comments from Red Sox players. Relive the journey of this Band of Bearded Brothers that led to the Red Sox’ third World Series victory in 10 years and another memorable championship parade.
The DVD and Blu-ray has over 20 minutes of additional bonus features including the emotional Boston Strong pre-game ceremony from Fenway Park on April 20th, a compilation of David Ortiz’s greatest 2013 moments, exclusive Rolling Rally parade footage, a retrospective on 2013 social media messages sent by players and the team, and narrator Kevin Millar’s unique reflections on the personalities of the 2013 Red Sox.
