1385521259_joshThe Packers and Lions will face off on Thanksgiving Day, but one Green Bay guard is anything but thankful for his opponent.

Josh Sitton shared his disdain for their division rival, ripping into the Detroit defense, their coaching staff and their knack for dirty plays while speaking on Sports Radio 1250 in Milwaukee on Tuesday. Although Aaron Rodgers is not expected to suit up on Thursday, Sitton was asked if he thought the Lions defense would try and take him out if Rodgers did take the field.

“Absolutely. They go after quarterbacks, their entire defense takes cheap shots all the time. That’s what they do, that’s who they are,” Sitton said. “They’re a bunch of dirtbags or scumbags. That’s just how they play. That’s how they’re coached.”

While Sitton certainly didn’t make any friends in the Motor City with that answer, he was just getting warmed up. The offensive lineman continued on with the Detroit bashing, going after head coach Jim Schwartz and his defensive assistants for encouraging their players to play dirty.

“That starts with their frickin’ coach. It starts with the head coach, Schwartz. He’s a d—, too. I wouldn’t want to play for him. It starts with him, and their D-coordinator and their D-line coach. They’re all just scumbags and so are the D-line.”

While this is far from the first time that Detroit’s borderline play on defense has come under scrutiny, as Chicago’s Brandon Marshall most recently called their defense borderline illegal, Sitton’s comments will surely add some extra intensity to the NFC North showdown, but more than that, Green Bay would like to do something they haven’t done in a month — win.

“I just want a frickin’ win. We haven’t won in a frickin’ month,” Sitton said.
