Jesse Winchester wasn’t penalized for his high hit on Chris Kelly during Thursday night’s game, but he may now be looking at a suspension.

Winchester will have a phone hearing with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety on Friday to review the hit, which involved the Panthers center leaving his feet to deliver an elbow to Kelly’s head early in the first period of the Bruins’ 4-1 win.

Since the hearing is not of the in-person variety, any potential suspension cannot exceed five games.

Kelly stayed down on the ice after the hit and was taken to the dressing room, but he later returned, logging 16:11 of ice time and recording an assist.
