richie incognitoThe Dolphins’ locker room has been made to seem like a pretty unruly place over the past few weeks. Now, it appears that the bullying may have extended beyond just the players.

Suspended guard Richie Incognito, who has been accused of bullying teammate Jonathan Martin, and one other teammate apparently mocked one Dolphins staff member for his ethnicity and even made crude comments about his wife, according to the National Football Post.

The report alleges that Incognito would even dress in clothes from the staffer’s ethnic culture and make jokes about that culture. Incognito also told the staffer that his wife had sexual relationships with several members of the team, according to the report.

The two players’ teasing was done in the presence of other Dolphins staff members as well, per the report, and was allowed to continue without any consequences from the team’s management or front office. The apparent hands-off approach to bullying, even of staff members, only goes to further the notion of the Dolphins need to change the culture of their team.

Incognito is eligible to be reinstated by the team on Dec. 2. It’s unknown if the team plans to reinstate him to the active roster or release him. Those are Miami’s only options, as a suspension for conduct detrimental to the team has a four-game maximum. That would only change if NFL-appointed investigator Ted Wells finds enough evidence to justify further action by the league.
