Samantha Ponder Rips Twitter Account for Criticizing Christian Ponder After Injury in Vikings-Redskins Game

Christian Ponder took some steps in defending himself against critics on Thursday night, putting together a pretty solid stat line before leaving the Vikings game against the Redskins in the third quarter after injuring his non-throwing shoulder diving for the end zone.

The Vikings went on to win, with Ponder’s 17-for-21 (81 percent), 174-yard, two-touchdown night a big reason for it.

But Ponder has been far from stellar this season (and he did throw one interception early Thursday), making him an easy target for those who like to pick on people who struggle as quarterbacks on professional football teams. Those people include the fake John Madden Twitter account — which apparently has a connection to Ponder’s wife, the former Samantha Steele, an ESPN sideline reporter.

Samantha Ponder didn’t miss her chance to let the Twitter user know she had seen the critical tweet and didn’t think so highly of someone she may have done a favor for turning on her husband, especially during one of his best games so far.

Check out her response in the tweet below.
