Scott Tolzien‘s first game as a NFL starter didn’t go so hot. His second got off to a much better start.
Tolzien learned a few things from his three-interception performance in an ugly loss to the New York Giants last week, leading him to use his feet a little bit more. The third-year quarterback drove the Packers deep into the red zone on their second drive of the day and decided it was the perfect place to show that he’s more than just a pocket passer.
With a second-and-goal from the six-yard line, Tolzien dropped back in the pocket and was immediately under pressure from a pair of Vikings defenders in hot pursuit. The quarterback, who ran a 4.93 40-yard dash at the NFL combine, improvised in the situation, turning on the jets and busting out a spin move more likely seen from Cam Newton or in a game of Madden.
