FOXBORO, Mass. — It’s looking like the Patriots’ struggling red zone offense could be getting a boost this weekend.
Rookie wide receiver Aaron Dobson sounded optimistic about his chances of playing against the Ravens on Sunday. Dobson has missed the past three games after hurting his foot in the first half against the Broncos in Week 12.
“It’s feeling good,” Dobson said about his foot. “I’m back out at practice. I’m just trying to improve.”
Dobson likes his chances of suiting up on Sunday.
“I think so, I think so,” Dobson said about whether he would play against Baltimore.
At 6-foot-3, Dobson would have been useful once New England got inside the 20-yard line against the Dolphins last weekend. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was forced to target shorter receivers Danny Amendola, Julian Edelman and Austin Collie inside the red zone.
Fellow rookie receiver Kenbrell Thompkins has also been practicing. He has missed the past two weeks with a hip injury.
