Antoine Roussel may be an obscure name to many casual hockey fans outside of Texas, but the second-year Stars winger is quickly becoming public enemy No. 1 in Chicago.

Before Roussel lined up to take a penalty shot in the third period of a tie game Tuesday night, he had already drawn the ire of the Blackhawks for his hit on Patrick Kane earlier this season, been sent to the box for elbowing the Hawks’ other star, Jonathan Toews, and dropped the gloves with Andrew Shaw in the fight of the year so far.

So, when the 24-year-old Frenchman beat Corey Crawford bar-down for the eventual game-winner, he decided to fuel the Blackhawks’ hatred a little more by taunting the United Center crowd repeatedly as he skated back to the bench.

Hockey purists may have frowned upon such blatant showboating, but Roussel’s teammates didn’t seem to mind. He was seen wearing the ceremonial Stars cowboy hat in the locker room afterward, presumably given to the game’s MVP.

The Blackhawks won’t have to wait long for a shot at revenge. These two teams play again in Dallas next Tuesday.
