At this point, it probably makes more sense to list who’s still on the Bruins’ roster as opposed to who’s out with an injury.
The B’s are going through a rather unfortunate period right now as they’re without a bunch of players who were on their opening night lineup. The latest member of the Black and Gold to go down with an injury was Daniel Paille. The fourth-line forward will miss Tuesday’s game with a mystery upper-body injury. Which part of Paille’s upper body is injured is unknown, as is his how long he’ll be out, but he will miss Tuesday’s game against the Flames.
With that injury, the Bruins needed to make yet another callup. Boston called on Nick Johnson to take Paille’s place for the time being. Johnson was one of the final cuts for the Bruins in training camp. The Calgary native has 11 goals and nine assists so far with Providence in the AHL.
In addition to not having Paille, the B’s will also be without Dougie Hamilton, Adam McQuaid, Chris Kelly, Loui Eriksson and Shawn Thornton. If there’s a bit of good news on that injury front, though, it’s that Johnny Boychuk is expected to return after missing two games with an injury suffered in a loss to the Canadiens.
Tuukka Rask was the first goalie off the ice for the Bruins at morning skate and is expected to get the start. Reto Berra is expected to start for the Flames.
