Berkshire Bank Faceoff: Jarome Iginla Says He’ll Be in Lineup as Bruins Take On Flames

jarome iginlaBruins winger Jarome Iginla looked to have suffered a pretty serious finger injury Saturday night in Vancouver. Going off of looks alone, it was as gruesome as could be, and many expected Iginla would miss at least a few games, especially with the forward going straight to the dressing room after finishing his first-period fight with Ryan Kesler.

Then the second period started and Iginla was on the ice.

Iginla dislocated his ring finger in the scrap, and the finger was snapped back into place by the Bruins’ training staff. Iginla was on the ice Tuesday morning at TD Garden for morning skate, and he confirmed after the skate that he would be good to go against Calgary on Tuesday night. The first-line winger downplayed the issues while insisting that he’s fine.

That means the Bruins won’t have to use Craig Cunningham after recalling the forward from Providence on Monday. Iginla’s health is one of the lone bright spots when it comes to the injury front for Boston. The B’s learned earlier in the week that Daniel Paille is out indefinitely with concussion-like symptoms, and Loui Eriksson is out indefinitely as well with a concussion. B’s coach Claude Julien said Monday that Eriksson hasn’t even returned to the rink yet, which means it will be a while before he’s back in game action.

Tuukka Rask is expected to be in net for the Bruins, while Reto Berra will get the starting nod for the Flames.
