New York Papers React To Chris Sale Trade, ‘New MLB Super Team’

For once, the New York papers don’t have anything bad to say about the Boston Red Sox.

Reactions poured in from all over Major League Baseball on Tuesday after the Red Sox traded for ace Chris Sale, but it was Brian Cashman’s response that raised some eyebrows. The New York Yankees general manager wondered aloud if the Red Sox just became the Golden State Warriors of MLB, and it got the New York Daily News thinking the Yanks might be a little scared.

The New York Knicks were the feature story on the New York Post’s back page, but the Cashman story made an appearance in the header. The Post went with the simple, punny headline of “Sox Good As Golden.”

It all could change in April, but it seems the New York media has admitted defeat for now.
