Bruins Recall Nick Johnson, David Warsofsky From Providence on Emergency Basis

David WarsofskyThe Boston Bruins are dealing with injuries on the front line, and have recalled David Warsofsky and Nick Johnson on an emergency basis from the Providence Bruins to play in Saturday night’s game against the Ottawa Senators.

Warsofsky and Johnson will be inserted into the lineup for Dennis Seidenberg and Carl Soderberg, both of whom suffered injuries in Friday night’s first half of a home-and-home tilt with the Sens. Neither Seidenberg nor Soderberg made the trip to Ottawa.

Warsofsky has skated in three games with Boston this season, making his NHL debut on Dec. 19 against the Buffalo Sabres. The forward has accumulated 10 goals and 54 assists for 64 points with a plus-eight rating in 161 games with the P-Bruins from 2010-13.

Johnson skated in seven games with Boston this season after earning a call-up on Dec. 10. He has 111 games of NHL experience under his belt, having had stints with the Phoenix Coyotes, Minnesota Wild, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Bruins. In 23 games with Providence this season, Johnson has notched 11 goals and nine assists for 20 points with a plus-seven rating.
