Every time Cam Newton scores a touchdown, he celebrates with an ode to Superman. But apparently Newton’s infatuation with superheroes extends beyond Clark Kent’s alter-ego.
Newton took the field in Carolina on Sunday with the same swagger as always, but he was also rocking a fresh pair of kicks. The Panthers quarterback was sporting a pair of black and silver Under Armour cleats that had the Batman insignia painted on the back.
Newton has looked a bit like a superhero himself this season. He’s quarterbacked the Panthers to seven straight wins on the year and a place among the NFL’s elite teams. With his caped crusader cleats tied tight, Newton was pushing to make it eight straight against the Buccaneers on Sunday.
