Chris Chelios went into the Hockey Hall of Fame in November, but even at age 51, the former Detroit Red Wings defenseman is still able to find the back of the net.
During the first period of Tuesday’s Winter Classic alumni game featuring teams made up of former Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs players at Comerica Park, Chelios gave his team a 2-0 lead, then stole the show with an exuberant celebration. It was a bit similar to Theo Fleury’s dramatic celebration in the 1991 NHL playoffs.
