Cowboys Tight End Gavin Escobar Flips Into End Zone for Touchdown, Celebrates With Bernie Dance (GIFs)

It took the Dallas Cowboys more than 23 minutes to get on the board Sunday night against the Philadelphia Eagles, but their first score of the game sure was impressive.

With Dallas trailing Philadelphia 10-0 midway through the second quarter, Kyle Orton hit tight end Gavin Escobar with a short pass deep in Philly territory. Escobar did the rest, galloping the final dozen yards down the sideline and flipping over the goal line — and safety Nate Allen — for a Cowboys touchdown.

It was just the second touchdown of the season for Escobar — his first came all the way back in Week 3 — and the rookie celebrated with a nice Bernie dance in the end zone.

There was no dancing in Dallas later, however. A potential game-tying two-point conversion failed with less than four minutes to play, and Eagles cornerback Brandon Boykin picked off Orton on the Cowboys’ final possession to seal the 24-22 win and send Philadelphia to the playoffs.
