It’s still not very clear what Daniel Paille‘s injury is, but it’s apparently enough for the Bruins forward to be further evaluated.
Paille became the latest Bruin added to the injury report earlier this week, as he missed Tuesday’s game in Calgary with what was labeled an upper-body injury. It’s unknown what part of his upper body is hurt, but it’s bad enough for Paille to head home.
Boston coach Claude Julien announced Wednesday that Paille is being sent back to Boston where he’ll be further evaluated by the team’s medical staff. The Bruins will be without Paille for the rest of their four-game road trip, as he’ll be unavailable for the remaining two games, on Thursday in Edmonton and Saturday in Vancouver.
Paille presumably suffered the injury Sunday in Toronto, but it didn’t really affect the fourth-line winger’s ice time at all. With Paille on the shelf, the Bruins recalled Nick Johnson from Providence prior to Tuesday’s game, and Johnson played Tuesday night against the Flames.
