If you think Ronnie Schwartz was embarrassed by his errant shot, imagine how the fan who tried to send the wayward ball back into play feels.

A Danish soccer fan tried to do something cool during a Superligaen (Danish first division) game between Nordsjaelland and Randers FC on Sunday but he failed … spectacularly. Luckily, the incident was caught on video and is doing the rounds on the Internet.

In the 26th minute, Randers striker Schwartz cut in from the left and tried to tie the game with a shot from 20 yards out. His shot sailed into the stands toward one fan. That’s where the fun began.

The fan was using one hand to talk on his cellphone and holding a few drinks in the other. He tried to back-heel the ball back onto the field, but he missed. The ball bounced on the terrace behind him and ricocheted straight into his drinks with predictable results.

If the fan wants or needs lessons on how to do a back-heel the right way, there’s a cameraman in Oman who can surely show him how it’s done.
