Here’s an instance of how blazing speed could negatively affect a player’s NFL draft stock.
South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney was ticketed Thursday morning for driving 84 mph in a 55-mph zone — his second speeding violation of the month — according to The State.
Clowney also was busted for going 110 mph in a 70-mph zone on Dec. 7. He was given a $355 citation for that offense.
The Gamecocks star’s most recent instance of speeding occurred at 10:30 a.m. on the outskirts of downtown Columbia, where the USC campus is located, according to a police report obtained by The State.
South Carolina, which finished the regular season ranked No. 9 in the nation, will take on Wisconsin in the Capital One Bowl on Jan. 1.
