Hockey players, man.

They are the toughest of the tough and rarely leave a game because of an injury. On Saturday night, Bruins forward Jarome Iginla suffered a pretty nasty injury during a fight, but in true NHL fashion, he finished out the rest of the game.

The B’s visited the Vancouver Canucks for the first time since winning Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals there in 2011, and even though Iginla wasn’t a member of that Bruins team, he still had some beef from his Calgary Flames days with Canucks forward Ryan Kesler. Within the opening minutes of the first period, the two dropped their gloves for a quick tussle.

Everything looked normal until Iginla pulled away from the scrap and viewers could see that his left hand didn’t look quite right. His left ring finger was bent in a way that no finger should ever bend. Iginla skated off the ice in intense pain after it looked like he jammed his figure during the fight — check out the photo below.

Of course, because he’s a hockey player, Iginla was back on the ice for the second period and skated his regular shifts for the rest of the game.
