It’s taken six seasons in the NFL for Jerod Mayo to make good use of the obvious product placement opportunity he wears on the back of his jersey. But he’s had a good excuse: He’s been playing football.

This year, with Mayo out with an injury and having nothing to do with his time but sniff Old Spice bottles, the Patriots linebacker has finally gotten to work on making his own line of mayonnaise.

Jerod’s All Pro Mayo is now available, and in three flavors: kickin’ buffalo, bruisin’ bacon and crushin’ chipotle. The varieties are available in a three-pack at plbsports.com, which also makes Gronk Flakes.

Mayo is donating some of his profits to Boston Medical Center, and he also has a special treat for those who show up at Shaw’s in Brockton this Saturday (from noon to 2 p.m.) to get some of his mayo — he’ll give them a complementary autograph.

The stuff probably tastes great with humble pie. Check it out in the photo below.
