Mike Smith Pulls Off Dive for the Ages, Dramatically Falls to Ice After Max Pacioretty Grazes Him (GIF)

Mike Smith possesses the ability to transform from a goaltender into an actor at the slightest hint of contact.

The Phoenix Coyotes goalie showed off his acting chops once again on Tuesday night as he made his way out of the crease to play the puck. Montreal’s Max Pacioretty undoubtedly touched Smith while he was skating by him, brushing the back of the goalie’s leg with his skate, but the accidental contact was made significantly more dramatic by Smith’s embellishment on the play.

Smith emphatically tumbled to the ice, theatrically throwing his legs in the air as he fell to really sell it, and his dramatics paid off as Pacioretty was called for tripping on the play.

Check out Smith’s dive in the GIF below.
