FOXBORO, Mass. — D.J. Williams didn’t last long in New England.

The Patriots released the tight end on Wednesday — exactly one week after they signed the Arkansas product. Williams received four offensive snaps against the Texans on Sunday. He was not targeted.

The roster move coincides with Michael Hoomanawanui‘s return to practice. Hoomanawanui missed two weeks of practice after injuring his knee against the Panthers.
