Rajon Rondo hasn’t played in a single game for the Boston Celtics this season, but that hasn’t prevented him from receiving the sixth-most votes for the 2014 NBA All-Star Game among Eastern Conference guards.
The NBA released the second returns of All-Star voting on Thursday afternoon. Jeff Green and Rondo were the only Celtics players listed.

The starters for the All-Star Game are determined by a fan vote, and the bench players for each team are selected by the coaches. Even though Rondo has received a lot of votes for someone with zero games played, there’s no chance he will catch Miami’s Dwyane Wade and Cleveland’s Kyrie Irving for a starting spot in the East’s backcourt. In fact, it’s unlikely that any of the East’s current starters will be overtaken in the voting.
This year’s All-Star Game will be played on Sunday, Feb. 16 in New Orleans.
