It’s too early to accurately predict whether Super Bowl XLVIII will be impacted by snow, but we do know that fans not sitting in luxury suites or other indoor areas will be forced to battle a cold environment with potentially freezing temperatures.
To help fans stay as warm as possible in the frigid outdoors, each seat at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey will include a couple of cold-weather accessories, per Daniel Kaplan of the Sports Business Journal.

According to Accuweather-run website willitsnow.com, the current forecast for Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 2, 2014) is mostly cloudy with a 31 percent chance of snowfall. There’s also an expected high of 36 degrees and a low of 18 degrees.
In the event that Mother Nature makes it difficult for the playing field to be ready at the scheduled kickoff time of 6:30 p.m. ET, the NFL is willing to postpone the game so that the stadium crew can tend to the snow. If the game is delayed a few hours, fans will certainly make good use of the earmuffs, gloves and other winter accessories that will reportedly be provided by the league.
