A good portion of the Bruins’ success stems from their ability to kill penalties on a consistent basis, and their exceptional performance in this area of the game was a major factor in the team’s 4-2 victory over the Oilers on Thursday night.
Edmonton puts a lot of high-end skill on the ice during each power play, with forwards such as Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins all capable of creating scoring chances and finding the back of the net.
But the Oilers couldn’t convert on any of their three power plays against the Bruins, and they also gave up a short-handed goal to Brad Marchand in the first period, which turned out to be the game-winner.
Check out Marchand’s goal in the video above.
