The Minnesota Vikings will leave the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome for greener pastures next season, and some fans decided to commemorate the stadium’s closing by taking a piece of it home with them.

After the Vikings’ final home game at the Metrodome, a 14-13 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday, at least a few spectators in attendance ripped off the backs of their seats and smuggled them out of the venue. Interestingly enough, the team actually beefed up security for the game to prevent this exact thing, but the guards apparently weren’t successful in stopping some folks from snagging a Metrodome memento.

WCCO TV’s Aaron Goodyear snapped a photo of one such instance of seat thievery. Check it out below.

The Vikings will play their home games at TCF Bank Stadium, home of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, in 2014 and 2015 while their new stadium is constructed.
