Aaron DobsonFOXBORO, Mass. — Any hope that New England Patriots wide receiver Aaron Dobson could play Saturday against the Indianapolis Colts should probably be dashed.

The rookie wideout was wearing a walking boot in the Patriots’ locker room on Wednesday. He reinjured his foot in Week 17 against the Buffalo Bills and failed to practice last week. He was not spotted at practice this week on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Fellow rookie wide receiver Kenbrell Thompkins will likely start in Dobson’s place. Thompkins began the year as the starter before giving way to Dobson. Thompkins was not targeted in Week 17 in his first week back from a hip injury.
