Manny Machado has blossomed into a superstar for the O’s, so an uptick in popularity is to be expected. That means VIP treatment, red carpet events, endorsement deals and hanging out with Alex Rodriguez.
Yes, you read that last part correctly. Machado was spotted hanging out with A-Rod and San Diego Padres first baseman Yonder Alonso at a Jay Z concert in Florida on Thursday. A-Rod, of course, is still lodged in a battle with Major League Baseball, while Machado and Alonso are just beginning what should be two promising careers.
Come to think of it, Dan Lozano — who represents Machado and Alonso — probably cringed, too.
