Nashville Predators defenseman Kevin Klein and Dallas Stars winger Antoine Roussel dropped the gloves for a little more than 20 seconds Monday night, and they were sure to get their money’s worth.
The two began jawing when Roussel nudged Klein into the Nashville net, knocking it off its moorings. The situation quickly escalated, and as players from both sides gathered in front of Predators goalie Carter Hutton, Roussel and Klein threw their gloves to the ice and squared off.
What ensued was a wild flurry of punches, with both players landing repeated shots but neither able to knock his opponent off his skates. The two looked spent by the time the officials intervened.
