Aqib TalibAqib Talib was forced to leave Sunday’s AFC Championship Game early in the second quarter after suffering a rib injury.

Talib was covering Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas on a slant route early in the second quarter when Wes Welker threw a block on the Patriots’ cornerback, jamming him in the ribs. Talib walked slowly back to the sidelines and received attention from the New England Patriots’ medical staff before going back to the locker room to be evaluated.

After spending a few drives off the field, Talib returned to the sideline late in the second quarter. The Patriots announced that he was questionable to return.
