There is going to be a lot of star power on the ice Tuesday night in Anaheim.
The Bruins are in town where they will take on the Anaheim Ducks in a matchup of two of the league’s best teams in the league at the Pond. With all of the Olympic rosters having been announced, Tuesday’s game will also feature a host of players headed for Sochi.
Between the two teams, there will potentially be 12 players represented at the Winter Olympics next month. As it stands right now, the Bruins had five players named to national teams, and the Ducks had seven players who will be heading to the Games. All but one of those players — Bruins forward Loui Eriksson who was named to the Swedish team — will be on the Honda Center ice on Tuesday night.
Patrice Bergeron (Canada), Zdeno Chara (Slovakia), David Krejci (Czech Republic) and Tuukka Rask (Finland) will be the Bruins’ Olympians to play Tuesday night. Corey Perry (Canada), Ryan Getzlaf (Canada), Teemu Selanne (Finland), Jakob Silfverberg (Sweden), Cam Fowler (USA), Sami Vatanen (Finland) and Jonas Hiller (Switzerland) round out the Anaheim Olympians.
Rask and Hiller are expected to be the goalies for Tuesday’s game in Anaheim.
