Alex Rodriguez is ticked off. Boston Red Sox infielder Brandon Snyder is ticked off that A-Rod is ticked off.
Rodriguez sued both Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association in federal court on Monday in an effort to overturn the 162-game suspension he was handed for allegedly using performance-enhancing drugs. The lawsuit further alienated Rodriguez from nearly everyone on the planet, and Snyder was among those who spoke out against the slugger on Twitter.
MLBPA director Tony Clark, who recently replaced the late Michael Weiner, who died of a brain tumor in November, said that Rodriguez’s claims that the players’ union failed to fairly represent him are “outrageous.” Clark also said that Rodriguez’s attacks on Weiner — whom A-Rod claims “corrupted the arbitration process” through comments made last summer — are “inexcusable.” Snyder expressed similar sentiments on Twitter, saying he is “absolutely disgusted” with Rodriguez and that he has lost all respect for the New York Yankees third baseman.
