Bruins-Panthers Live: Boston Defeats Florida 6-2, Extends Win Streak To Four Games

Boston has scored six times in three straight games, and its winning streak has been extended to four games.

Boston remains in first place in the Atlantic Division with 71 points. Its next game is Thursday against Montreal at TD Garden.

Third Period, 15:18, Bruins 5-2: The Panthers kill off the penalty and we’re back to even strength.

Third Period, 13:18, Bruins 5-2: Carl Soderberg was tripped by Dmitri Kulikov and the Bruins are going on the power play. They are 1-for-3 on the man-advantage tonight.

Third Period, 8:14, Bruins 5-2: Shawn Thornton skated the puck into the attacking zone, went into the corner, came out of it with the puck and scored on Thomas with a beautiful backhand shot. It was one of the best goals Thornton has ever scored.

It’s his first goal since Nov. 19. Gregory Campbell picked up an assist.

Third Period, 6:17, Bruins 4-2: The Panthers are starting to gain some momentum and have spent a lot of time in the Bruins’ zone over the last few minutes.

But on the last rush up ice, a shot from Brad Marchand was stopped by Thomas, but not before the veteran goaltender looked behind him and covered the rolling puck before it crossed the goal line.

Third Period, 4:00, Bruins 4-2: After Jesse Winchester missed an open net because his stick broke, Dmitri Kulikov fired a shot from the point that beat Rask with traffic in front of the net.

It’s the Panthers’ first power-play goal in their last 44 attempts.

It’s Boyes’ 14th goal of the season. Nick Bjusgstad was credited with an assist.

Rask slammed his stick against the boards before heading off the ice for the intermission.

Boston has allowed 1.97 goals per game when Kelly has been in the lineup (29 games), compared to 2.41 goals against when he hasn’t played (22 games).

6:20 p.m. ET: The Boston Bruins have won three straight games and return to home ice to take on former goaltender Tim Thomas and the Florida Panthers at TD Garden on Tuesday night.

Boston’s second line has led a scoring surge for the B’s over the last three games. The team has scored 15 goals in that span, with Brad Marchand leading the way with six goals in his last seven games. He’s tied with Reilly Smith for the team lead with 17 goals, and along with veteran center Patrice Bergeron, this trio is firing on all cylinders.

The Bruins are 2-0 against the Panthers this season and have allowed a total of three goals.
