bruno MarsBruno Mars sounds all sorts of excited to finally hit the stage for his Super Bowl halftime show Sunday night, and he isn’t going to let a little bad weather stop what he expects to be an incredible performance.

Mars, along with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, will be the halftime act during Super Bowl XLVIII between the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Mars spent about 15 minutes discussing the opportunity and answering questions during a pre-Super Bowl news conference Thursday, during which he expressed the utmost excitement and no nerves.

“I ain’t scared if that’s what you think,” Mars joked about his performance. “Spectacle-wise? I don’t do trapeze and all that stuff. I hope to get people dancing and smiling. If you ever come to one of my shows, it’s just us up there. We’ve got these songs and our instruments, and I’m hoping that’s enough.”

As far as the potentially freezing temperatures and possibility of snow for the game, Mars didn’t seem the least bit intimidated. He even quipped that he’s “got three gallons of hairspray in this thing,” pointing to his puffed-up hair to show how relaxed he was heading into the show.

Mars will have lots to live up to with his performance, considering Beyonce raised expectations with an eye-popping performance at Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans last year.
