Cam Newton might be getting a call from the NBA after this flop.
The Carolina Panthers were preparing for a 3rd-and-goal from the 1-yard line when San Francisco 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks kicked off arguably the most entertaining sequence of events from the first half. Brooks took off comically early before the snap and dove over the offensive line, which prompted the Panthers quarterback to show off some poor acting skills.
Newton’s timing was as off as Brooks’ timing and the signal caller dramatically fell to the ground after the linebacker flew past him. The Panthers settled for a field goal on the drive to take a 10-6 lead, but the 49ers would eventually go on to win 23-10.
