Cricket Player Jordan Silk Lays Out to Make Catch of the Year in Australia (Video)

You don’t need to know much about cricket to know that a catch like the one Jordan Silk made Wednesday doesn’t come around every day.

Silk, who plays for the Sydney Sixers in Australia’s Twenty20 circuit, went fully horizontal to snare a sinking line drive off the bat of Brisbane’s Craig Kieswetter. Also, keep in mind that fielders don’t wear gloves in cricket, making Silk’s magnificent, one-handed grab all the more impressive.

The television commentator called it one of the best catches he has ever seen, and The Sydney Morning Herald points out that Silk is regarded as the best fielder in Australia. Both of those statements seem pretty accurate.

Check out the catch in the video below, with a hat tip to Reddit.
