Daniel SturridgeNeither injuries nor an onrushing Tim Howard can stop Daniel Sturridge from scoring goals for Liverpool.

Sturridge continued his hot streak Wednesday when he scored two goals in quick succession during Liverpool’s 4-0 Premier League rout of Everton at Anfield.

Sturridge had barely finished celebrating his first goal when he conjured up this little bit of magic in the 35th minute.

Liverpool defender Kolo Toure played a pass over the top of Everton’s defense, and Sturridge timed his run well enough to beat the Toffees’ offside trap as he ran onto it. Sturridge then let the ball bounce before deciding to lob it from around 20 yards out — without even looking at the goal — over the outstretched arms of Everton goalkeeper Howard.

Liverpool led 3-0 at halftime thanks to Sturridge’s first-half pair and Steven Gerrard’s header.

Sturridge could have completed a hat trick in the second half, but he missed a penalty kick in the 54th minute. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers substituted Victor Moses for Sturridge after 72 minutes.

Sturridge, 24, remains in torrid form despite the penalty-kick miss. The England star has scored five goals in four games since returning from an ankle injury, which kept him out of action from Dec. 1 to Jan. 5.

Sturridge has scored 13 league goals in 15 games this season — good for third in the league behind Liverpool teammate Luis Suarez (23 goals) and Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero (14).
