Hal McRaeSeattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman had some choice words for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree following Sunday’s NFC Championship Game. The result was one of the most interesting postgame interviews in a long time. It nearly left FOX Sports’ Erin Andrews speechless.

Sherman’s emotional outburst on national television is hardly the first postgame rant in sports history, though. Many other athletes, coaches and managers have had emotions get the best of them over the years, and Sherman’s blow-up served as a reminder that the passion that surrounds sports — particularly in big games — is unlike anything else.

While Sherman’s postgame immediately brought to mind some great rants in NFL history, it also helped evoke memories of some famous Major League Baseball meltdowns. Whether it’s a full-fledged tirade following a tough loss or a memorable quote in response to a reporter’s question, baseball players and managers have given us some incredible soundbites over the years. It’s what happens when the regular season is a 162-game grind.

Check out the link below for some of the best rants in MLB history. Some notables were left off due to their extremely salty language, but the following link includes a good blend of comedy, frustration and pure anger.
