Chicks dig the long ball, not the bald spot.
Tom Glavine and Greg Maddux — both of whom were elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame this week — joined former teammate John Smoltz for an MLB Network interview shortly after learning of their induction. Host Greg Amsinger asked the trio to reveal the best hitter of the bunch, and the attention quickly shifted toward the famous “chicks dig the long ball” Nike commercial that Glavine and Maddux starred in during the pitchers’ heyday.
Smoltz, who Maddux said had the most power of the three former Braves pitchers, wondered why he didn’t get to be a part of the legendary commercial. Maddux joked that Smoltz didn’t win enough games at the time, while Glavine took a shot at Smoltz’s hairline.
