One hockey fan pulled off the rare winter web gem on Saturday.

While holding his young child in one arm, a man reached up with his bare hand to snag a puck that had soared over the boards during a game between the Norfolk Admirals (the Anaheim Ducks’ American Hockey League affiliate) and Bridgeport Sound Tigers (New York Islanders).

The home fans in Norfolk gave the guy a nice ovation, even though his authentic blue-and-orange Anders Nilsson sweater hinted that he was clearly rooting for the Sound Tigers. (Nilsson, a goalie, had a cup of coffee with the Isles earlier this season, and he did not fare well, allowing 17 goals in five appearances.)

Check out dad’s nice grab in the video below, with a stick tap to Reddit.
