Matthew Mulligan has been a New England Patriot for the majority of this season, but the backup tight end received a special welcome Wednesday from an unlikely source: Hulk Hogan.
The pro wrestling legend posted a video on his Facebook page throwing his support behind the Patriots, welcoming Mulligan to town and letting the team know it’s free to use Hulk’s biceps if it ever runs into trouble (we think?).
Hogan’s family has ties to the Dallas Cowboys — his daughter, Brooke, was engaged to center Phil Costa — but is it really any surprise that a man whose theme song is called “Real American” supports the Patriots?
WEEI’s Joe Zarbano passed along news that Hulk called out Mulligan by name because the tight end purchased a title belt from Hogan’s shop. So, there’s that.
