Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles left the team’s AFC wild card playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts in the first quarter and is being tested for a possible concussion.

Charles was forced to leave the field after hitting his head on the playing surface following a seven-yard run on the sixth play of the contest. Knile Davis has replaced him as the No. 1 running.
Prior to leaving the game, Charles carried the ball three times and picked up 18 yards. He finished the regular season with 1,287 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns, while adding 70 receptions for 693 yards and seven touchdowns.
Despite losing arguably their best offensive player, the Chiefs opened up a 17-7 lead with over 14 minutes left in the second quarter on a 79-yard touchdown pass from Alex Smith to Donnie Avery.
