Monday was an off day for the Boston Bruins, but it was a busy one for defenseman Johnny Boychuk.

Boychuk, who flew back to Boston before Saturday’s win over the San Jose Sharks, and his wife welcomed twin daughters into the world in the early hours of Monday morning. There was no time to rest for the blueliner, though, as he drove straight from the hospital to Ristuccia Arena in time for the team’s morning practice.
