Josh Boyce Placed on Injured Reserve by Patriots, Ending Rookie Wide Receiver’s Season

Josh BoyceFOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots will have to make do in the playoffs without rookie wide receiver Josh Boyce.

Boyce was placed on injured reserve by the Patriots on Thursday, ending his season, and wide receiver Austin Collie took his place on the 53-man roster. Boyce hurt his ankle during a Week 15 game against the Miami Dolphins and hadn’t practiced since.

Boyce ends his season with nine receptions for 121 yards. He played in nine games, starting three.

Boyce was a fourth-round pick in the 2013 NFL draft out of TCU, selected No. 102 overall.
