Larry Fitzgerald is willing to move some money around to stay with the Arizona Cardinals.
Fitzgerald said Thursday that he’s open to restructuring his contract. The Cardinals wide receiver is due $12.75 million in 2014 with an $18 million cap hit.
“Absolutely,” Fitzgerald said on FOX Sports 910. “If that’s what needs to be done, that’s what needs to be done.”
Fitzgerald is not willing to take a pay cut, according to azcentral.com. That means Fitzgerald’s cap hit would have to be lowered by spreading the money out. He’s currently signed through 2018, but his guaranteed  money runs out after 2015. Restructuring would likely mean his contract would be guaranteed into 2016 and possibly 2017.
Fitzgerald’s willingness to restructure to stay in Arizona is likely bad news for New England Patriots fans, who were hoping the receiver would be traded to their favorite team.
