The on-ice antics in Slap Shot look tame in comparison to the line brawl that broke out in one minor-league hockey game over the weekend.

The Danville Dashers and Watertown Privateers of the Federal Hockey League squared off in a hockey fight that’s one of the longest (nearly 10 minutes) and largest (nine players received game misconducts) we’ve ever seen.

The melee has far too many wrinkles to encapsulate in one story — though one player ripping off another’s jersey and whipping it around like a windmill certainly is a highlight — but the standout is the play-by-play announcer, who would fit right in on a WWE telecast and more than makes up for the amateur camerawork.

“This is Single-A hockey,” he exclaims. “I love it!”

Oh yeah, and Watertown went on to win the game 6-2 despite playing the final 12:52 of the third period with just one player on its bench.
